Products Overview
SpectraLinear products are developed by a team of engineers with over 200 combined years of experience bringing integrated timing devices to market. This extensive application and design knowledge translates to products that maximize timing performance using standard high-volume semiconductor processes. Using state-of–the-art CAD tools, the products are simulated over all corner conditions to maximize performance for jitter, phase noise, power consumption and other parameters. EProClock® Programmable Clock Generators
High performance alternatives to existing XOs at a fraction of the cost
EProClock Programmable Clock Generators provide the same performance features as HPXO (High Performance Crystal Oscillators), SO (SAW oscillators) or VCXO (Voltage controlled Oscillators), but cost significantly less. EProClock Programmability also offers a high degree of flexibility available with or without EMI reduction options and up to 4-PLL synthesizing capability with twelve outputs.
Dial-a-dB® EMI Reduction (SSCG)
Stand-alone, general-purpose programmable EMI reduction chips
Dial-a-dB EMI Reduction chips employ Dial-a-dB Spread Spectrum Technology (SST). SpectraLinear has pioneered this technology and offers the industry’s widest range of products with unmatched performance. SpectraLinear’s proprietary EProClock programming technologies provide unsurpassed programmability.
Zero Delay Buffers (ZDBs)
Industry standard low power, high performance ZDB products
Our family of industry standard ZDB products is based on SpectraLinear’s low power, high performance PLL technology. They are used primarily in high performance systems for clock distribution. They provide very low skew, jitter and propagation delay, meet very tight setup and hold time requirements, and improve system timing margins. These low skew zero delay buffers offer improved performance, power, and operating frequency range upgrades over the competition, offering up to a 220MHz frequency range and a supply operation range from 3.3V to 2.5V. Offered with 4, 5, 8 and 9 output versions.
Fanout Buffers (NZDBs)
Industry standard high performance buffers
SpectraLinear has created a line of high performance buffers without using PLL technology. These high speed, low delay and low skew fanout buffers operate up to 220MHz within a 3.3V to 2.5V power supply range. Offered in 4 and 9 output versions.

Computing system main clock generators
SpectraLinear’s system clock generators are designed to support a wide variety of chipsets and processors. For greater design flexibility and system performance, SpectraLinear’s system main clock generators offer specialized features including over-clocking, under-clocking, Dial-a-Frequency®, programmable spread spectrum bandwidth and modulation rates, as well as slew rate control.
Memory Clocks & Buffers
High performance memory, PCI-X and PCI express buffers
SpectraLinear’s system clock buffers are designed for on-board clock expansion and distribution. They may be implemented as stand-alone buffers or as complementary to the system’s main clock generator. Typically, these devices receive a clock input and generate multiple output copies. A wide variety of options are available to address diverse design needs. They support PCI express as well as PCI-X, DDR and DDR2 memory clock distribution requirements.
