SpectraLinear announces a family of Four Frequency Timing generators supporting the Intel® ATOM Processors

Santa Clara, CA – December 1, 2008 – SpectraLinear Inc., a leading provider of timing solutions for the consumer, computer and communication markets, today announced the SL28505, SL28540, SL28561, and SL28641, a family of frequency timing generators for the Intel® ATOM processors (code-named “Diamondville”). This family of products is designed to support the Intel® ATOM processors 200 and 300 series in the highly popular Netbook, Nettop and mini-notebook applications.

The SL28505, SL28540, SL28561, and SL28641 support I/O voltage from 3.3V to as low as 1.05V, which can result in significant power savings, consequently extending battery life. These products allow cost-effective implementations by integrating the voltage regulator and series termination resistors of all differential output clocks, therefore, lowering the total solution cost by eliminating external components and excess circuitries; furthermore resulting in thinner and lighter system designs. The newly released products also incorporate multiple EMI reduction features such as SpectraLinear’s multi-spread profiles, 8-bits slew rate configurations, and amplitude adjustments.

The following chart highlights the features of above announced family of parts:
