SpectraLinear Introduces ReadyClock™ Family of Clock Generators with Spread Spectrum Clock (SSC) for EMI Reduction

A new family of 1-PLL clock generators with spread spectrum clock (SSC) option offer low power dissipation, low jitter and instant availability for fast-time-to-market and reduced inventory

Santa Clara, CA – June 22, 2009 – SpectraLinear Inc., a leading provider of timing solutions for the consumer, computation and communication markets, today announced the production availability of SL19800, a family of clock generators to replace most commonly used crystal oscillators in microprocessors, USB, Ethernet, PCI Multimedia, Audio and system ASICs. The products also offer a spread spectrum clock (SSC) option to reduce electro-magnetic interface emissions (EMI), eliminating the need for expensive and difficult to use shielding and filtering such as beads, chokes and filters, saving development and manufacturing time and cost.

The products are used in a wide range of digital entertainment, handheld and portable, consumer, ethernet and communications applications, including routers, switches, servers, HDTV, set-top boxes, base stations, personal computers, games, digital still cameras, printers and copiers.

SpectraLinear's SL19800 ReadyClock™ features:

• Fixed clock frequencies using either external crystal or clock
• Up to 200 MHz clock output frequency
• 0.25 to 5.0% spread for EMI reduction
• On-chip crystal load capacitors
• 3.3 to 2.5V power supply with 1.8V option
• Low power dissipation and jitter
• 8-pin Lead-Free TSSOP surface-mount package

Pricing and Availability

The SL19800 is offered in an 8-pin, 4.4 mm TSSOP package and priced at $0.96 each in 1,000 unit quantities. The products are available and in production now.
