AMD Approves the Spectra Linear CY28RS680 for its Notebook and Desktop Applications

Santa Clara, CA –May 10, 2007 – Spectra Linear Inc., a leading provider of timing solutions for the consumer, computer and communication markets, today announced that AMD, the world second-largest microprocessor maker, has approved Spectra Linear CY28RS680 to support its latest ATI RS690 chipset for desktop and notebook applications.

The CY28RS680 device uses low-power push-pull buffers that reduced power consumption by as much as 35% compared to other competitors, makes it ideal for notebook applications. The CY28RS680 offers unsurpassed performance with cycle-to-cycle jitter as low as 40ps. It is also tailored to gaming platforms, allowing up to 100% overclocking for cutting edge PCI-Express graphic cards. With board space saving in mind, the CY28RS680 has integrated regulators eliminating the need for the external circuitry that would otherwise be required. The CY28RS680 is offered in 56-TSSOP and 64-TSSOP packages.
