SpectraLinear Introduces “Radio-Friendly” Clock Generator for Intel® Santa Rosa Mobile Platform

Santa Clara, CA – March 5, 2007 – SpectraLinear Inc., a leading provider of timing solutions for the consumer, computer and communication markets, recently announced availability of CY28547, the clock generator that is designed to support the latest Intel® Santa Rosa mobile platform, which includes Core 2 Duo CPU (code-named Merom), the new mobile chipset code-named Crestline and ICH8M.

The latest Intel mobile platform enables PC vendors to keep pushing the performance envelope while reducing the system power consumption at the same time. The CY28547 addresses these challenges by providing robust performance, low-jitter clocks together with advanced power management features and new low power differential buffers introduced by the Intel CK505 clock specification.

The CY28547 is pin-compatible with CY28447. The clock generator supports the previous generation Intel® Napa platform, providing customers easier and faster design migration to the new platform. The CY28547 also incorporates new single-ended clock buffers with 8-step slew rate control that will further reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in addition to the built-in spread spectrum control. All of this makes CY28547 a “radio-friendly” clock generator that is ideal for mobile devices in today’s connected world.

“SpectraLinear co-defined CY28547 with one of the world’s largest PC manufacturers,” said Richard Reifer, VP of Sales and Marketing for SpectraLinear. “We work closely with our customers from day one of the product development to make sure that our product meets the customer’s requirements.”

The CY28547 is offered in 72-pin QFN package. It is in available for order now.
