SpectraLinear SPL505YC256BT Supports Intel’s PCI Express “Gen2” Chipset
Santa Clara, CA – February 5, 2007 – Spectra Linear introduces the SPL505YC256BT device to support Intel’s latest PCI-Express “Gen2” chipset. The SPL505YC256BT is designed to support Intel’s latest chipset, code-named Bearlake, coupled with Intel’s Quad Core processor. Designed with low-power push-pull buffers, the SPL505YC256BT will also supports Intel’s next generation Santa Rosa mobile platform.
The SPL505YC256BT offers unsurpassed performance and is compliance to both PCI Express 1.1 and 2.0. The SPL505YC256BT offers extremely low cycle-to-cycle jitter, as much as 50% below Intel’s specification, allowing more timing margin for system designers. The SPL505YC256BT also offers an abundant of programmability such as programmable frequency for single-ended clocks like the 25MHZ to support WOL (wake-on-LAN) and IDE conversion or the 27MHz to support external graphic chipsets. Other programmability that will minimized time-to-market and system design complexities range from the eight settings slew rate control to minimized electro magnetic interference (EMI) in mobile platform and the eight settings for differential output swing control to compensate for various trace lengths and loading in system design. The SPL505YC256BT is hardware/software compatible to support Intel Active Management Technology, providing new levels of security for notebooks and desktops applications.
“As system design becomes more complex, programmability will be come an essential tool for system design to quickly fix board issues and reduce time to market and cost. Out initial feedbacks from our customers have been positive, with strong comments as the ‘Best of class’ in PCI-Express performance,” said Elie Ayache, SpectraLinear’s General Manger of APAC operations.
The new device offers:
- Low power consumption for notebook applications
- Low cycle-to-cycle jitter for increase in system timing
- 3-bit slew rate control for EMI reduction
- 3-bit output swing control for differential outputs to compensate for trace length and loading
- Frequency programmable single-ended clocks
